Hofwirt
Styrian hospitality since 1603
At the Hotel Hofwirt, hospitality is a tradition – our Baroque building is located next to the Seckau Abbey in the Seckau Alps and has been run as a restaurant since 1603.
Baroque charm with a modern interior
The Hotel Hofwirt, which belongs to Projekt-Spielberg, was extensively renovated in 2013 with great attention to detail. The seven elegant suites with a contrast of modern interiors, the latest technology and traditional Baroque charm with renovated stucco ceilings, are designed to deeply inspire our guests.
A gem for centuries
The first records of the Hofwirt date back to the 13th century where it is listed as a "stone house" belonging to the Seckau Abbey. From 1603, the building was used as a restaurant with its current name being used even back then!
Hospitality at the Hofwirt
The Hofwirt has always delighted visitors, not only with its home-style cuisine, but also with its stucco ceilings which still fill its rooms with an extraordinary Baroque elegance. Most of the ceilings depict scenes of human life, reminiscent of the world of the Italian Commedia dell'Arte. One scene even represents the courtier's hospitality – something which is still valid to this day!
Home-style, traditional and Styrian delicacies
We serve homely cuisine that ranges from traditional Styrian delicacies to innovative treats. Our attention to detail is reflected in the selection of only the highest quality ingredients and great importance is placed on promoting products and specialties from the region.
